About the role
ERC is entering its next growth phase. As Chief of Staff, you will be the operational backbone and strategic right hand of our C-Level team (CEO, CCO, CTO). You will work across every different functions, bring structure to ambiguity, and make sure the organization is aligned and ready to scale.
This is not a support role. You will hold real responsibility, have full visibility on company strategy, and shape how we operate as we grow from deep-tech startup to an industrial company with a significant footprint in European defense and aviation.
What you will do
What you’ll do in your day-to-day:
Strategy, Alignment & Cross-Functional Integration
Strategic alignment at ERC does not happen by default. You work directly with the C-Level to own the quarterly planning process, translate high-level goals into concrete team-level actions, and ensure priorities are understood and executed across all functions.
You are the connective layer between engineering, commercial, operations, and external affairs — catching coordination & process failures early, owning resolution, and driving alignment through regular internal formats such as bi-monthly Townhalls and the weekly Company JF meetings.
Special Projects
High-ambition work at ERC does not wait for the right background. Past examples: policy papers delivered directly to ministers and members of the Bundestag, Tagesschau media coverage (the largest TV news program in Europe), and defining the vision & mission for the company. You take on projects like these with no playbook and deliver exceptional results. Domain expertise is not required. Drive and resourcefulness are.
Hiring & Culture
We are targeting to double our headcount soon. You support hiring processes end-to-end and ensure ERC attracts exceptional talent as we scale.
Beyond recruiting, you own cultural alignment: making sure processes do not break under growth pressure, that new team members integrate well, and that ERC remains a place of high ownership and clear communication. This requires a lot of structure and a strong eye for people.
External Representation of ERC
While much of your work is internal, you will follow the C-Level to important external engagements based on the strategic project you are leading. This includes trade fairs and defense exhibitions, press and media appearances, parliamentary meetings, and partner conversations.
Beyond showing up, you own the outcome: preparation, follow-through, and making sure ERC is represented credibly at every touchpoint. The scope shifts with the mission, but the standard does not.
